Treating Depression with Hypnosis

Depression involves a low mood that stays around for an extended period of time. If you are feeling sad or unhappy for six weeks or more, are finding it difficult to concentrate, have trouble sleeping or desire to sleep all the time, or have noticed a significant change in your appetite, you might be experiencing depression. 

Depression can be a serious issue. If you or someone you know feels that they are suffering from depression they should certainly go to see their General Practitioner or medical doctor right away. Your GP may suggest medication or other forms of treatment to help you deal with your depression and its symptoms. 

I have a hypnosis recording called Overcome Depression that I think can help as well. Hypnosis and relaxation can be useful as an adjunct to other traditional therapies and depression treatments. Obviously, I’m not able to sit down with people who purchase one of my hypnosis CDs or MP3 hypnosis downloads to discuss their detailed history. And I certainly can’t contact everybody’s GP and find out if a recording will work successfully with their treatment. For these reasons I make sure to include a reminder in my hypnosis recording to see a medical professional for diagnosis and other forms of treatment.

Not only does self hypnosis help you relax as you listen, but repeated listening helps restore a balance to your life throughout the day. Listening just before you go to bed might even help you get back some of the sleep you’ve been missing.

There are many different types of depression and ways to treat it, but hypnosis can work in conjunction with just about any therapy or medication. Undoubtedly for milder forms of depression, hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be a big help.  

If you are experiencing depression be sure to see your doctor, and do consider hypnosis as a complimentary therapeutic treatment. Don’t let depression rule your life. Talk to your doctor, listen to Overcome Depression, and hopefully soon you’ll be feeling like yourself again.
