Benefits of Relaxation Alone Are Innumerable
Hypnosis is often thought to be helpful only with the mind. However, as the mind and body are all part of the same being; they have a ‘knock on’ effect upon each other. Listening to a relaxation CD (or MP3 download) helps the mind unlock many blockages which prevent the body from feeling well again.
Many people think that self-hypnosis is only any good for weight loss and quitting smoking. They are mistaken; there are many, many other possibilities.
Self-hypnosis has an obvious subtle effect upon the physical and mental well-being of a person. What we say to ourselves, what we believe, what we feel is right about us, often becomes the truth. Therefore, what we listen to in a relaxed state of mind also becomes believable and acceptable; if, this is our true inner wish or desire.
People who feel stressed, unhappy or overworked, generally their health will suffer. Most psychological pressures can cause weaknesses in your system bringing about the tendency to catch colds and viruses. How you feel can even play a part with chronic complaints such as arthritis, rheumatism, digestive and back problems. Often, if you feel low, your body also feels weakened and this can bring about more pain and discomfort.
What better way to give your general mental and psychological health a boost than by feeding it positive and well-being suggestions, helping it to work for it’s greater good and full positive potential.
Not only can this have an effect on the mind and what a person thinks and feels about themselves; but, it can go on to affect the persons physical health too. They last thing someone needs is interference from a health condition when they have more important things to achieve.
Let me give you an example:
A university student came to see me as a client. He was an intelligent, well thought of chap, with lots of friends, involved in local groups and campaigns. The pressures of a recent thesis were causing him lots of stress. But, it wasn’t just this, it was all the other work he needed to keep up to date with – the weekend and holiday job he had to do to just ‘pay his way’; local government campaigns he was also involved in. He had a tendency to take criticisms quite hard and personal; he was also just getting over swine flu and was having trouble sleeping.
It has been around three months now since he underwent hypnotherapy and took one of my self-hypnosis CDs. One of the main things he said to me was, ‘if I look after myself, then I reap the rewards!’ And that’s is just what he does; make time to relax and rest; feel more comfortable with yourself and plan your life in a constructive and fruitful way.
