Hypnoanalysis is a type of therapy that occurs in one-to-one hypnosis sessions, not in hypnosis MP3 downloads. You see, the aim of hypnoanalysis is to locate the root cause of a problem or symptom through formal or informal regression techniques (not to be confused with past life regression). Because the underlying causes for our behaviours and feelings can run quite deep, I believe they are best handled with the help of a professional hypnotherapist.
There are certain people who want to know why they feel and act a particular way. They may tend to ask themselves, “Why do I do this? What causes me to feel or react this way?” Many people who have these types of thoughts believe they absolutely must know what causes their behaviours in order to overcome them. Hypnoanalysis may be the best way to help these people find the answers they seek.
By bringing the mind back through hypnosis to the experiences stored in their unconscious mind and revealing the root of the issue, people may be able to gain valuable insight into their feelings and behaviours. When a person has more understanding of the reason why they’ve been experiencing a problem, it can obviously be very, very useful. Also, there may be an expression of emotions at the time of locating the root cause of their problem and the release of these feelings can be very helpful indeed.
What we’re talking about with hypnoanalysis is cause and effect; in other words, it works with the belief that we behave, think, and feel emotions in a certain way because of something in our past. This type of hypnosis is a faster and more effective way of dealing with emotions than psychoanalysis. Hypnoanalysis is not a long-term therapy; you can often see results in just three or four hypnosis sessions. With traditional psychotherapy it could take months and even years to resolve issues. (See my previous post ”hypnotherapy or psychotherapy” for more of my thoughts on this).
Hypnoanalysis is just another hypnosis technique used to help people deal with their feelings, as well as understand and control their behaviours. I don’t use hypnoanalysis in my self-hypnosis CDs and hypnosis downloads because I don’t see the need to. Our self-hypnosis sessions stand on their own to help people deal with their emotions and control their behaviours, such as self esteem issues or to stop smoking with hypnosis. You don’t always need to know the reason why you do something in order to change it. If however, you feel it is necessary, I suggest seek the help of a hypnotherapist.
