It’s the usual routine of what you expect is what you get. Harsh, it may sound – but our unconscious only takes things literally and positively. That means if we think we can’t sleep, then we can’t; and consequently, we constantly programme our conscious and unconscious mind to keep awake most evenings.
A dear lady came to see me who had been suffering from keeping herself awake for 5 years. Her husband had died, five years ago. We worked with the grief and loss and helped her to say goodbye to her husband, but also helped her to remember all the good memories. To reinforce the work we did together, she also listened to my hypnosis for sleep CD/MP3 download. She wrote to me only last week; she still sleeps soundly and comfortably every evening.
With insomnia, there could be lots of reasons why we cannot sleep, often quite justifiable. However, there are many things which prevent us from going to sleep, if dealt with, would not get in our way.
