The Balance Between Your Conscious & Unconscious Mind

The conscious mind looking into the unconsciousWithout you even being aware your conscious mind is constantly making decisions based upon past events and experienced held in your unconscious. If you see a tree, before you decide it is a tree your mind consciously searches (in the flick of a second) for trees you have seen/felt/heard in the past. It might be on a windy day, you remember with whoosh of the leaves; or, even the tall trees you saw in the countryside woodland walk and how nice it felt on that particular day to have a relaxing stroll. You mind is constantly delving into the filing cabinets of your mind.

So, if your conscious mind has the capability to explore your past history and unconscious detail without even realizing; there may also be times when you make decisions based upon bad times too. It might be whenever you try to pass your driving test and put every effort into revision and practice, you fail. Maybe your confidence is not all it could be or maybe each time you get into the driving seat, your mind goes blank because, without realizing it, this is what happened to you at school when you were sitting examinations. Maybe as a child, you had revised for your papers and knew plenty about the subject, but forgot everything because of nerves and worry at sitting in the examination room.

We aim to help you get a balance between your conscious and unconscious mind, using therapeutic techniques derived from hypnosis, hypnotherapy, counselling and Neuro Linguistic Programming. Our self-hypnosis recordings helps your conscious mind to sieve through all the useful information and use what is only best for you, in your life right now to achieve the results you desire. So, whether you want to pass your driving test, improve your self-confidence or just be more successful at what you already do; make the most of your resources, using self-hypnosis.

The Right Setting For Personal Change

Man expressing freedom as metaphor for personal change In my experience of working with many clients, people need the following to feel comfortable and safe enough to apply their desired personal change:-

#1. A feeling of being safe and quiet without any distractions.

When you listen to your self-hypnosis CD or MP3 download; the best environment is a nice and quiet room, with the telephone switched off and away from any distractions. When I’m working with clients, our time together is very important to the client’s process of change. The client deserves all my attention during the session; therefore when you listen to your self-hypnosis session; give yourself peace and quiet – you deserve it!

#2. A feeling of trust and the reassurance that everything will be kept confidential.

Confidentiality is conveyed at the beginning of my sessions with clients; this is a respectful code of ethics I abide by. I believe the client deserves this respect and whether you decide to tell anyone you are listening to a self-hypnosis recording is entirely your decision.

#3. A calm and warm environment.

I always make sure my office is warm enough to feel comfortable. In the summer time, there may be a window open and winter time I may have the heating on. Obvious detail, but very important – it can be quite uncomfortable trying to relax if you are too warm or too cold.

#4. Knowing that anyone present is not going to make any judgments.

It is and always has been my attitude to be non-judgmental. Every person I meet who becomes a client is from a different background with different and very individual circumstances. Each person is unique and our hypnotherapy CDs and downloads are tailored to suit as much diversity as possible. I believe you should approach self-hypnosis with an open and non-judgmental mind too. This will lead to you getting more from your experience and It will enable you to feel ever more comfortable.

#5. Knowing that anyone present is going to accept you as you are.

Again, I accept clients as human beings, all individual in their own right. In time, and again, with regular practice, you can begin to accept yourself for who you are. It is then when true changes happen.

#6. Confidence in the process.

Take heed and trust in the comments received from previous client and testimonials made by people who have used our hypnotherapy sessions. Anything worth doing; is worth the effort. Self-hypnosis is a skill; once you have learned it and honed it for yourself, it can be difficult not to use it in your everyday life. In fact, lots have people have said to me ‘I really don’t know how I managed before self-hypnosis’.

Are You Having a Bad Day?

Bad Day, Chinese Cookie MessageDid you decide (probably without realizing it) today is going to be one of those days. And guess what? By the time lunchtime has appeared lots of things have gone wrong. You nearly ran into the person in front whilst driving to work this morning; you couldn’t find your appointments diary; your first client didn’t turn up and the phone rings just as you are about to have a break. Sound familiar?

I wonder if you can just brush that aside and continue your day in a happy frame of mind or whether it just keeps niggling you, ‘aauurr, it’s an awful day, typical!’ And so the day of dullness and disappointments continues. Negative and self-sabotaging thoughts start to run through your mind, convincing you something else is going to happen or go wrong. The self-fulfilling prophecy continues. Sound familiar?

Regular patterns of negative thoughts like these are common when you have little control over how you think and feel. Your mind is just left to wonder into wherever it pleases and this usually ends up with a negative result. However, with a constructive reasoning and balanced attitude, you are more able to achieve more success throughout your day.

Our hypnotherapy downloads help you to dismiss any unwanted and negative thoughts, turning them into more positive ones, even before they start to affect your behavior. With regular listening, your confidence in the tool, self-hypnosis, will improve steadily each and every day. It’s rather like cleaning your home from top to bottom and deciding for yourself what is going on which shelve and in which cupboard.

The basis of the techniques used in each hypnotherapy recording is to help you develop new ways to dismiss limiting and negative thoughts, thus giving way to a more productive day.

Boost Your Positive Thinking

Positive Thinking MessagesIn the past I’ve written about why the simple ways are often the most effective (see ‘How to Think Positively in 7 Days‘). Well, I’d like to share something with you that’s equally as good.

You see, the more you expect positive things to happen within your life, the more you’ll find that they do happen. Positive thinking is a habit; the more you practice, the better you become. It’s a positive habit; a positive expectation.

You experience the world through your five senses, what you see, what you hear, what you feel, and what you say (to others and self talk). In any given situation, whether it’s a walk in the park; sharing time with family or reading a good book, you are constantly taking on board more information from all your five senses.

So, why not do it constructively, and choose just what you take on board?

Below is a list of five questions I suggest you ask yourself each day. Write them down and put the list on your fridge door. Write the answer next to it each time; then you can look back and remember the nice feeling.

  • What beauty did I see that made me feel happy today?
  • What did I enjoy the taste of today?
  • What uplifting smell did I inhale today?
  • What interesting sound(s) did I take in and enjoy today?
  • What was it I touched that made me feel pleasure today?

Nothing succeeds like the success we say. It’s true, so why not learn from it. If you want to improve your positive expectations; self-belief; and self-esteem; the power of the imagination is so vast we do not fully appreciate it enough.

When you do something well, allow yourself to feel really pleased about it – even if it’s just a small thing. By doing this you’re nourishing yourself in the most practical way, feeding your positive expectation.

Enjoy!

Depression – Living Your Life Inside Out

Depression from the inside outI’ve written about hypnosis and depression in the past, but it’s worth writing about again – because depression is an issue that affects so many people. And I have worked with many, many clients and something I have come to realise through experience is, the more intelligent the person, the less likely they are aware of why they feel depressed in the first place.

People are often aware that their depression just doesn’t make any sense. They can often find reasons why they should feel happy to be alive. However, their body feels lethargic and worn; their mind numb – like it wouldn’t recognise a nice feeling if it screamed at them. And nothing in their life is worth any effort at all.

Depressed people often have a negative view of themselves, people around them, their environment and their future. They have typically stopped enjoying things and may say things like, ‘why does everything always happen to me?’ or, ‘why am I such a failure?’

Well, if you are reading this and suffer with depression from time to time, I am sure you don’t need me to remind you of the ‘black cloud’ and the ‘very sad feelings’ you experience. I am sure you are a master at that already.

At New Way Productions, we take all our therapeutic self hypnosis recordings very seriously and consider them all to be successful when you give that specific area of your life regular and dedicated attention. We also know that it is very important if you feel depressed for a long period of time, always check out with your GP or hospital consultant that you are getting the right help for you.

Our self hypnosis for depression recording is specifically designed to help alleviate symptoms of your depression and to help lift your mood.

Often people are recommended to do the following in order to help themselves feel better when they suffer from depression:

  • Take regular exercise
  • Cut out alcohol/street drugs
  • Eat well
  • Cut down caffeine
  • Talk to others
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Take care of your appearance
  • Take up yoga
  • Recognise negative thoughts and change them around

This is all well and good, but if you are feeling so low you cannot be bothered with any of the above, how can you possibly make a start?

Our self hypnosis for depression CD / MP3 download helps you to motivate yourself to do simple things first. It reaches the deeper parts of your mind where triggers may be hidden, causing you to feel depressed and low.

Whilst you are deeply relaxed, the hypnotherapy techniques help to introduce new and stronger ways of dealing with life. All you need to do is listen to it each and every day. It may also be helpful for you to read my article entitled, ‘How to Think Positively in Seven Days.’.

The only effort you need to find for the moment is to, listen to your self hypnosis for depression recording every day, as suggested and thank yourself for doing just that. It is only a little effort, but this will go such a long way if you trust yourself to switch on the positive suggestions and allow yourself to live your life now.

All the best and every strength to you.

Self-Hypnosis for a Healthy Life

Metaphor for self-hypnosis and healthWhen you relax, your breathing becomes deep and slow. Your heart rate decreases, and the blood flow to the extremities increases. Muscles relax and return to their normal resting place. Hormones are more balanced and your overall metabolism is slowed.

If your body responds to one element of the above description when you relax, then you can break into a chain of psychological changes that occur when you relax. In other words, you can make the changes in your life you so desire, such as increasing your self confidence.

Deep breathing will slow your heart rate, and encourage a general state of relaxation. The increased blood flow will help muscles relax, feeding them nutrients and oxygen. Focussing the mind can also slow the heart rate, and, if you have high blood pressure, relaxation will help bring it to a more normal level.

It can become a way of life for you. Imagine what it might be like for you to hone your own skill of self-hypnosis – having the power to just relax and feel comfortable enough to focus on success in your life.

How many things in your life have you started with a real sense of enthusiasm only for it to dwindle away when other distractions take you away from your potential achievements?

A woman once came to see me because she had trouble finishing any project she started. She felt downhearted and disappointed with herself.

Her hobby was cross stitching and she had bits and bobs of started projects all over her house. But, it didn’t stop there, she had half written letters; lists of things she needed to do but never did; half tidied rooms; she was starting to forget things too because her life was in such a mess.

I asked the woman, ‘if you feel your life is in such a mess, how do you feel inside?’ She replied, ‘a total mess!’ She was literally, all over the place.

You see, when you feel settled inside, your outside is more settled too. Your life is more comfortable and you naturally, achieve more.

Using self-hypnosis is a way of looking after ‘you’ – rather like maintaining a car. You keep it regularly serviced and maintained and it will, in return, run smoothly.

The woman I spoke about is still just as creative, she continues to complete cross stitch projects and keeps her house tidy. She feels more organised inside, less stressed and more organised outside. She completes what she sets out to achieve, feeling a real sense of accomplishment.

All this was achieved with the help of self-hypnosis and listening to our self-hypnosis recordings on a regular basis.
