How to Rid Yourself of ‘The Stress Sickness’

Stress in the workplaceAre you the type of person who doesn’t worry about anything, or does waiting for the bus make you feel all wound up? Do you enjoy pressure, or avoid it at all costs?

More than half of us feel stressed out at least once a month, and often more. Money worries, work pressures, difficult relationships – all of these contribute to our stressed out lives.

Of course, a little bit of stress does no harm. It can even be good for us. It can even motivate us to make changes. But having too much stress in our life and holding on to it is a bad thing. Lying awake worrying does no one any good. It can affect your health, making you more susceptible to infection and it can affect your memory. It can also lead to depression. When stress becomes too much, you can start to lack energy and interest in the outside world.

These depressive feelings can lead to further problems with your emotional health.

Stresses you hold within yourself help muscles to ‘clench’ tightly. They get used to being in that position, almost as if it were your way of life. All your muscles and body parts are connected in some way or another and they all feel the stress seep through your bloodstream, causing unnecessary negative feelings. Unfortunately, because your body is all part of the same unit, it doesn’t take long for ‘all of you’ to start feeling really low and tired.

But, you can turn it around. You can let go of the stress you feel each and every day.

Stress is a word which means different things to different people. For someone with a high powered management job, the responsibility of that job might be unbearable. But it may be that you have children and you feel that you ‘just haven’t had a moment to yourself’.

Self hypnosis can help you to relax your muscles and take more oxygen into your body; giving your muscles a chance to feel differently; to let go of all the tenseness. Your shoulders will drop to a comfortable position; your back will straighten; your posture will change; the tone of your voice will sound stronger and more positive. Also, your body will start receiving signals that everything is calm and serene. Your blood flow will be smoother; flowing through each and every part of you; giving a real sense of wellness.

If this is how you would like to feel; listen to the stress management hypnosis recording with commitment to yourself because you will notice the difference. As soon as you develop your own skill to relax and feel more comfortable using self hypnosis, you will wonder just how you managed without it.

Hypnosis Tapes

Tapes‘Back in the day’ the cassette tape was a hugely popular format for pre-recorded music. From the early 1970s to the late 1990s, cassette tapes were widespread, along with the LP and then later the CD.

We first started producing audio hypnosis sessions back in 2002, we originally made them available on our website in CD and tape format. The tape format was discontinued by most major recording companies in 2002/03, but at the time we thought there might still be some demand. But I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of hypnosis tapes we sold back then. There aren’t many people in the world who own any hypnosis tapes produced by us, that’s for sure!

It wasn’t long before we stopped producing hypnosis tapes altogether and started offering our sessions in MP3 format, alongside our CDs. So it’s surprising how often we still hear people mention ‘hypnosis tapes’ when they talk about our products or hypnosis products in general. For example, the other week we received a really nice email from one of customers, in which they said:

“I just wanted to pass on thanks to you as I have found your hypnosis tapes highly valuable.”

I’m quite positive that they didn’t use one of our tapes from the early days, but we know what they meant because we get that a lot. We don’t mind when people mention tapes, because we love to hear from our customers. It’s just interesting how often we hear people still mention ‘hypnosis tapes’ long after we and most other retailers stopped selling them.

I decided to do some research on cassette tapes before writing this blog post. Did you know that that sales of pre-recorded music cassettes in the United States alone dropped from 442 million in 1990 to 34,000 in 2009? That’s quite a drop! If you’re curious to learn more then check out this website; the history of cassette tapes.

I know some people still look back fondly at the cassette tape, but to be honest we were quite glad to stop making them shortly after starting out back in 2002. And over the space of 9 years our MP3 hypnosis downloads now account for the majority of our sales, and we didn’t even offer this format ‘back in the day’ when we produced hypnosis tapes.

In case you’re wondering, people still like to purchase our hypnosis CDs – and we’re very happy to continue making them. Technology changes so rapidly and it’s just a matter of time before CDs become obsolete, but for now we’ll continue with them for as long as there’s a demand from our customers.

Pain Control and Self Hypnosis

Your pain is rather like a warning sign; it lets you know as soon as there is a problem. A message is sent very quickly to let you know you are not feeling well and need to do something about it straight away or it will keep sending more of the same warning messages until you pay attention.

Acute pain is a signal of an urgent response and we seek the cause of our pain. It is extremely important to get good medical advice and treatment of any injury or disease. Once it has been diagnosed and treated at the hospital or by your GP, there is often no longer the need for pain anymore and your mind should stop sending you those messages. However, even after you have visited the hospital or doctor, undergone the appropriate treatment and been discharged, sometimes you may still feel pain and may need to take medication for some time. Some may suffer from chronic or ongoing pain. Headaches, migraine, back pain, arthritis, and gout are among the chronic pains that people often suffer. Certain cancers, and even their treatments, can cause and produce unneeded pain.

We use self hypnosis to control the unwanted and unneeded pain using special technique to help you feel more comfortable; whilst keeping your warning system in place. Hypnosis is well known for its affect on the physical body. Using self-hypnosis helps your unconscious to recognise and dismiss any unnecessary pain. We teach your unconscious mind to sieve out all painful feelings and keep the signals which help to indicate a new problem or a change in an existing one, using a tailor made sensor system within the therapy.

I once had a client who was seeking pain relief for chronic back pain. He had undergone two operations at the hospital to remove a disc in his spine. Unfortunately, the pain he has during the recovery of each surgical procedure was very strong and most over the counter analgesia (painkillers) did not help him. He was waiting for a further operation on his spine to enable him to sit down for longer periods without the shooting pains in his legs and, arms and back. One month ago, he was taking morphine, prescribed by his GP and his quality of life was diminishing, as he felt very depressed.

I worked with him and also gave him our pain management self hypnosis CD recording along with the hypnotherapy for depression CD recording. He has listened to both the hypnotherapy recordings for one month now and although he is still waiting to have his operation, he only takes over the counter analgesia. He says he feel happier and is looking forward to getting over his next operation. He plans to keep on listening to the hypnotherapy recordings throughout, until he feels fully recovered.

So, some pain, even long term pain can be positively changed within a month of using self hypnosis / hypnotherapy. Remember, all change is dependent upon you commitment and determination to listen to your self hypnosis recordings regularly. Nothing comes without effort.

For those who have chronic, long term pain, it may take longer for your comfort level to be found. However, perseverance is a must; because once you start practicing self-hypnosis, the good feelings you have as your thoughts begin to change into happy ones, is the start of a strong foundation. As you start to feel happier about your future and more comfortable with yourself and your body, there will be areas of your life which will change. It might be you take up a different hobby. This will also help occupy your mind, while your practice of self hypnosis works for a more healthier you.

Do You Know How to Relax?

So you’ve had a busy day at work or at home with the kids and you sit down after your meal with a drink of your choice; in front of your favourite TV programme, in company or not; and let out a huge deep sigh. There ends another full day! Do you feel happy? Contented? Comfortable? Relaxed enough to dismiss any unwanted thoughts of yesterday, today or tomorrow?

There are lots of people who, for the whole day, the deepest breath they take is the huge sigh of relief, when it ends. And that’s okay, if it is good enough for you. But, what about getting a little more from your life? What if, at the end of your day, you feel a smile develop from deep within you, bringing feelings of contentment and accomplishment as you mentally review your day – giving yourself a good old pat on the back.

I’ve had clients ring me and say how much easier their life is once they know how to properly relax. Self hypnosis and hypnotherapy involves teaching you how to reach an already natural state of heightened awareness, where your mind becomes open to your own beneficial suggestions and changes. The self hypnosis recordings guide you through the basic relaxation techniques (which are the basis of all change); release any negative emotions; help you to set your goals and personal enhancement targets. Most of all, self hypnosis teaches you to develop and strengthen your life, using your own resources to make positive and lasting changes within your life.

It’s not loss of control. It’s a totally safe and natural state of mind which enables you to reach built in information, attitudes and feelings you have towards life so that you can either strengthen or change them, according to your needs. Once you can relax comfortably, you can; increase your self confidence, concentrate more easily, improve your memory, get a good nights sleep, change your eating habits, overcome a fear, be free of a habit and be generally happier with yourself.

So, what does it really feel like to be deeply relaxed? Let me tell you about my experience of relaxation. Firstly, I make sure I am feeling as comfortable and safe as possible; undisturbed and in a quiet room, away from any noises or other people. Then, I take a number of deep breathes, deeper than I have all day, to really reach the bottom of my tummy. I feel my lungs soak up the air and as I release the breath, I just let go. Then, I take myself into self hypnosis (which can be learned from using one of my self hypnosis CDs or downloads) and enjoy and review anything which may have happened throughout the day.

I may go through conversations I had with people and thank myself for doing the best I did with the information I had at the time. I may send messages of love to people I know; and, check out how I really feel deep down inside, releasing any unwanted feelings. I may answer any questions which may arise. This may sound different, but it has taken me years to develop my own way of using self-hypnosis to finely tune it to suit me. Using my skills and experience of relaxation, the CD and MP3 recordings help you to do this so much quicker. You have the benefit of my experience all in one recording, so you can learn it for yourself, very quickly.

Take time to follow the instructions and develop your own way of reaching the self-hypnosis to suit you. Once you develop your own skill, you will be surprise at just what you can achieve. Maybe if you chose to just relax to start with you could then move on to a particular area within your life, which you feel could do with a fine tune – perhaps, driving, fear of flying or maybe you want to stop smoking. It’s your life and your choice – enjoy it!
