Dental Hypnosis – Beyond My Wildest Expectations!

Last week we received a wonderful email from a very satisifed customer with a great story to tell. It’s always nice to get testimonials and we always ask if we can include the comments on our site. But this one is a bit special – probably our greatest testimonial to date. So we’d like to share it with you here (of course with full permission)…

My name is Chere McCoy and I am the one that Lawrence bought the dental hypnosis download for.

Today I had my first appointment (it will take 3) for my root canal and it went perfectly – beyond my wildest expectations or dreams!

I need to give you some background so you know just how bad it was for me before I used the download.

Due to some horrendous experiences with dentist I had not seen a dentist in over 20 years. Even back then they would give me valium to take the night before and another to take one hour before my appointment. These did not help much because by the time I got to the dental chair I was practically catatonic with fear, in tears and the dentist didn’t want to work with me.

About two months ago one of my teeth (C3) was very badly abscessed and even though I was in great pain I just couldn’t bring myself to see a dentist. I went to see my VA (Veteran’s Administration) therapist and we took baby steps to work me toward seeing a dentist. Finally the week before Christmas I made it to the point I could actually interview dentist (this was suggested by my therapist). I interviewed three in one day – I cannot tell you the horrible anxiety I experienced just going into the office’s simply to speak with the receptionist.

One of the dentists had been recommend by the owner of the Salon where I rent a booth and I interviewed his people; they were kind and understanding. The upshot of that day was that even though I was in tears and totally exhausted (and this was just talking about it) I made an appointment for the week after Christmas. Larry went with me to the dentist (as I get so anxious that whatever they tell me I hear but don’t retain). The dentist went very slowly and explained everything (which Larry later went over in detail with me) and gave lots and lots of options (usually the dentist just very gruffly tell you what needs to be done and that is that). So even though after the appointment I was in tears and totally exhausted (remember all the dentist did was look at my teeth during this appointment), Larry and I agreed that he would be a good dentist for me.

The next day I was doing a manicure on my friend and she recommended seeing a hypnotist. Unfortunately I didn’t have the $185.00 they charge here so I felt hopeless.

Larry and I went on the web and looked at several sites and listened to examples. We decided yours seemed to be the most relaxing and would fit me (if you have questions as to why we thought it fit please e-mail and I will explain).

You will have to check your records for when Larry purchased the mp3 download but I think it was about 1/16/2011.

Larry downloaded it. Every single night before bed I would use my headphones to listen, every single morning I got up at 5:30 put on my headphones and listened again.

Moving forward to last Sunday (72 hours prior to 1st appointment for root canal) I didn’t have any anxiety and had not broken into goose bumps, hives, nor had I felt sick to my stomach. I was doing just fine. Last night I wasn’t going to take the valium but Larry said I should take it just in case. Before going to bed I played the mp3 download he bought. At 5:30 this morning I played my download again. At 9:00am I took my other valium. Now it use to be that I didn’t sleep the night before and was a basket case in tears, regurgitating and hyperventilating the night before – not this time! Even this morning I felt pretty good. I was a little nervous but that was all. Got to the dentist office – I was calm and relaxed. Got in the dentist chair – still okay. I did tense up a little during the procedure but that was all. The dentist, assistants, and office staff were astounded!

It is 1:43PM 1/26/2011 (2 & 3/4 hours after the appointment) as I am writing this and I don’t even have the “after dentist hangover” (that’s when I’ve so exhausted myself by reguritating, hyperventaliting, and having anxiety attacks that I am like a zombie). In my wildest dreams I would never have thought this possible.

I totally credit the mp3 download Larry bought for me from your site for this miracle! Yes, it can only be called a miracle.

I still have two more appointments before my root canal is completed and then I have 7 or 8 more appointments (has to be done over several months as the economy has not been good to us) for more dental work. I will be using my download faithfully.

There are simply no words that can thank you for making available this download.

Feel free to use my comments on your website.

Chere McCoy
Vero Beach, Florida

P.S. I told my dentist all about the download and he thought it was great (especially after seeing the physical result). He asked if he could listen (I left him my iPod which I will pick up tomorrow or on Monday). He told me he had taken a course in dental school many years ago (back in the late 70′s) but only tried it on his wife. I am hoping he will like it and recommend your site to others like me. I will let you know.

Chere, congratulations on your success. You should be very proud of yourself! Thanks for allowing us to share your story.

How to Think Positively in 7 Days

Thinking positively is easier than you think. As grown ups, we tend to always look for the more complicated ways of feeling good and thinking positive. I suppose to some, it wouldn’t make sense to you unless there was a technical explanation along with a long drawn out logical and psychological breakdown of how your mind works?

Children have a lot to offer in their way of thinking. They are not bombarded with logical left brained information – they enjoy making a ‘game’ out of lots of things in life and celebrating as they go along – each and every day.

Once you have purchased your self hypnosis recording from New Way Productions; whether it is for positive thinking or find happiness etc; and you ‘feel’ ready to make some changes, I suggest you listen to it every day for seven days.

Simple as that!

Draw a chart, if you like, and pin it up where you can ‘tick’ off each day as you listen to your self hypnosis recording. Get yourself some gold stars, reward yourself. Celebrate the fact that you have listened to it each and every day.

If a negative thought pops into your mind – ‘thank it’ and remind yourself, ‘at least I have listened to my self hypnosis recording today’.

Once you continue to listen to your self-hypnosis recording with ease – the positive suggestions within each technique will naturally help you to feel even stronger.

So, to summarise, here are the following items I suggest you have on your list:

Once you have completed your list and have a ‘tick’ or special gold star for seven consecutive days – keep it and remind yourself of how well you are doing now.

Again, whilst you give effort to listen to your self hypnosis recording each and every day; your mind is automatically taking on board any positive suggestions delivered through the specific therapy involved to provide positive changes within your life.

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)?

A few people have asked me, ‘just what is this Neuro Linguistic Programming?’ and ‘how do you use it with your hypnotherapy downloads?’

I have also been asked how it works; so I thought it would be an idea to give you a few examples with explanations to help you understand just how our hypnotherapy CDs and downloads can help you to be proactive and productive with any changes in your life. It does seem rather technical and logical. However, when used alongside the therapeutic techniques of deep relaxation, it can help people in all manner of areas within their life.

There are many different explanations of Neuro Linguistic Programming (or NLP), but to be as simplified and specific as possible, here is my description:

  • Neuro means the nervous system (the mind), through which our experience is processed via our five senses.
  • Linguistic is the language and other non-verbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning. These include, pictures we see in our minds eye; feelings we may have; the tastes we experience; the smells we take in; and the words we say (including any self/inner talk).
  • Programming is the ability to discover and utilise the programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological system to achieve our specific and desired outcomes.

NLP is about communication, language, modelling excellence, mastering your own mind and the study of internal experience. NLP has a wide range of practical applications in business (e.g. management, personnel, sales, consulting), training and development, education, law, medicine, healthy, farming, writing and the arts, sports, parenting, hobbies and personal development – anywhere communication and excelling are important. The more interested you are in communication, personal effectiveness and development – the more NLP has to offer.

We use the special therapeutic techniques, honed and developed by Barrie St John, which are derived from the therapeutic models of Neuro Linguistic Programming, coupled with hypnosis and hypnotherapy, to help bring about positive change.

Therefore, you can be assured, that once you find your way of deeply relaxing and feeling more comfortable with the techniques of hypnosis, changes and development in areas such as, fears and phobias; addictions; relationships; anxiety and stress; confidence issues; creative relaxation; sports hypnosis; men’s & women’s issues; weight loss; personal performance and personal development.

Using self hypnosis in this way is not a temporary change – once you make it part of your life and a part of your regular daily routine, you’ll be amazed at the changes you can make. Just like riding a bike. Before you get on the bike, you cannot ride it only imagine what it might be like. Once you start to practice, you may fall off one or two times. However, with perseverance, and willpower, you eventually master it for yourself and when truly confident in your abilities, take off the stabilisers and ride more freely. Try it for yourself and notice just what you can achieve.

Using Hypnosis for Anxiety

Anxiety is often at the root of many problems, preventing you from being the best that you can be. However in most cases, it is the anxiety itself which is the main symptom. You may be aware of feeling anxious and tense all the time, even if you have nothing to be anxious about. The power of the imagination is quite amazing. Any disruption to your daily routine, however small, adds to your anxiety, and what might appear to the outsider to be a relatively trivial problem may seem to you to be quite enormous and may cause a considerable worsening of your anxiety symptoms.

Usually, my hypnotherapy clients know there is no real cause for anxiety (logically or consciously) and as a result they often worry about the way they feel, which on one hand, seems senseless, but on the other seems to be in complete control of their lives. Hypnosis can be effective in treating these emotional problems.

For lots of clients, the knowledge of the way they feel or act is irrational and classic of the condition described as neurosis in many medical dictionaries. And, sometimes this awareness of the irrationality of their behaviour can lead to them believing they must be going mad.

Here are just some of the feelings clients have report to me:

  • Shortness of breath and a breathlessness sensation.
  • Dizziness or unsteady feelings of faintness.
  • Racing heart or chest pain.
  • Shaking or trembling.
  • Unusual sweating.
  • Choking feeling.
  • Nausea or stomach aches.
  • Numbness or tingling sensation.
  • Hot or cold flushes.
  • Feeling unreal or out of touch with reality.
  • Feeling that you are dying or going mad.

The first thing we need to do to deal with anxiety issues is to gain control over other aspects of your life. All the feelings surrounding anxiety are associated with the main problem itself. That is why hypnosis doesn’t just treat one area of the issue. Your mind and body are connected. For example, if you feel worked up or anxious, more often than not, your body will also feel a similar way, giving you a stomach ache or tense muscles.

Our most popular hypnosis for anxiety session is ‘anxiety release’ – and it’s very effective; it’s one of the easiest issues to deal with using hypnosis. Hypnosis can be very effective in treating these emotional conditions and results are greatly improved when you use them daily.

The Creation of Fears and Phobias

Did you know that we spend more time talking to ourselves than to other people? Often we are not consciously aware of the inward gossip we have taking place in our heads.

We speak to ourselves in a language which has special meaning to us based on past previous experience. We decide we know what a car looks like from previous experience of seeing one. When we hear birds singing, we will be automatically reminded of past times when hearing or seeing them before. If we see people riding on a roller coaster, we will be reminded also from our past feeling associated with riding on one.

An interesting thought is, our minds are clever enough to even ‘make up’ what it might be like to ride on a roller coaster, even if we haven’t been near one. Thus creating feelings around this subject for our mind to use for future times. Then, in the future, if we feel scared, sad, happy, whatever the feeling, we are reminded of that too.

For instance, Mary always liked working in her garden; planting new bulbs and watching them grow. She also liked to smell the smell of freshly cut grass until the farmer one day was ‘manure spreading’ in a nearby field. Mary instantly felt sick (setting a memory in her mind to be automatically used for future times). However, she continued cutting the grass and because she was particularly tired that day after working the previous; she slipped and cut the cable with her lawn mower. Not causing herself any harm, but certainly shaking herself up.

Mary now goes into the garden to cut her grass regularly (as usual) and as she does, she remembers and wonders if there might be a horrible smell today (oh, and while she is remembering the smell, she also thinks she had better be careful not to cut another cable on her new lawn mower!) Are you getting my drift?

In a similar way, we collect bad memories to create fears, phobias and irrational feelings surrounding something or other, like the fear of spiders, fear of flying etc.

Self hypnosis can help work at a deeper level to blow the irrationality ‘out of the water’ so to speak and help us to get our jobs done in life more efficiently.

Mary now sits in her garden, on her patio and feels sick each time she sits down and cannot explain why. She has also started to feel a little jumpy around machinery in her house, but cannot quite figure why.

However small a problem as this may seem, I have spoken with many people who actually feel embarrassed about their fears and phobias, which are personal to them. One lady was very scared of feathers and was in a constant state of stress and anxiety; she felt very embarrassed to tell another and had suffered with it for years. Now, after listening to our self-hypnosis CD recording for phobias, she goes out shopping and does not have that worry at all, because together, we reached that deeper level.

We are all different and experience everything through our own senses; there is no measuring stick as to whether your fear of phobia is bad enough for you to get the help you need. We believe if something in life is stopping you in any way, from doing anything, there is always something you can do about it. Have a go with our freedom from phobias self hypnosis CD and notice how different you do start to feel.
