The Public’s Perception of Hypnosis

I have heard it said by some that hypnosis is; evil, strange, and it’s all about messing with the mind. I have also been told that hypnotherapy is about taking someone’s personality, changing it about and adding irrelevant and harmful things in a very manipulative way.

That sounds to me a lot like a Hollywood film I saw on television last week.

Wow! What power us hypnotherapists would have if it were true. Actually, it is far from the truth; all hypnosis is self hypnosis. Everyone is in complete control and will only do in hypnosis what they feel is within their personality to do so. When we see people dancing around like chickens and doing silly things – like in a stage hypnosis show – it is very probable they are the type of people who love attention and enjoy acting and are really quite extrovert people.

The internet opens doors to so much information for just about anything. You can read about hypnotherapy; hypnosis and self-hypnosis by just putting in a search for the words. On this blog we have a collection of very informative topics relating to hypnotherapy for you to read at your leisure. The more information you have; the more you have the opportunity to understand just what is possible through using self-hypnosis and what a power tool you have inside you to make so many great changes within your life.
